Great Lakes Teacher Training offers Waldorf teacher training and anthroposophically-based adult enrichment opportunities to cultivate the capacities in the individual that facilitate social renewal.
The training integrates studies in Waldorf pedagogy and child development with philosophical foundation studies in Anthroposophy. Active, hands-on work in artistic areas supports the inner-deepening growth of self-knowledge and schooling of perception essential for the Waldorf teacher.
Great Lakes Teacher Training is an (AWSNA) Association of Waldorf Schools of North America "Developing Institute", offering a three-year (part-time), 30-credit Waldorf Teaching Certification. We also partner with Mount Mary College to offer a Masters Degree in Education with a Waldorf emphasis. We were established in 2001 in response to the need, both locally and nationally, for well-trained Waldorf teachers. As an organization, we value:

Mount Mary Masters in Education Program
(39 cr. hrs.)
Through a combination of 3 summer intensives, 3 fall
term evening courses, 1 spring term evening course and 2 spring term independent
study courses, candidates can complete the sequence of courses required for a
Masters in Education with a Waldorf Teaching Certification. (30 cr. Waldorf Teacher
Training courses and 9 cr. mainstream education courses).
Scholarships
Great Lakes Teacher Training students qualify for scholarships through
the Association of Waldorf Schools in America (AWSNA) Loan-to-Grant Program after
they have completed their first year of training.
